I am blown away！ These stories are amazing！！！ I absolutely loved each and every one of them， and they were all so incredibly interesting and unique。 There was definitely some creep factor， but in the best way！ Can’t get enough of this world！！

“Love speaks in flowers。 Truth requires thorns。”This was fun to read alongside Rule of Wolves。 It felt like I was fully immersed into the Grishaverse with the “current” events of ROW and the stories told to Zemeni， Ravkan， Kerch and Fjerdan children and adults alike within The Language of Thorns！ I enjoyed the whimsical and atmospheric stories dipped in warning， as well as the stunning artwork。 My favorites are Amaya and the Thorn Wood， The Too-Clever Fox and When Water Sang Fire。

Trigger Warnings: fairy tale typical horror and gore， parental abandonment and abuse， murder， etc。 （Yes these ARE fairy tale typical - we just tend to think of the Disney versions first LOL）。So， I absolutely loved this one。 On a strictly bookishly shallow side， the hardcover was GLORIOUS from the book jacket to the gilded hardcover itself to the utterly stunning illustrations that followed the stories as they progressed with the tiny building details of the illustrations until the final full pag Trigger Warnings: fairy tale typical horror and gore， parental abandonment and abuse， murder， etc。 （Yes these ARE fairy tale typical - we just tend to think of the Disney versions first LOL）。So， I absolutely loved this one。 On a strictly bookishly shallow side， the hardcover was GLORIOUS from the book jacket to the gilded hardcover itself to the utterly stunning illustrations that followed the stories as they progressed with the tiny building details of the illustrations until the final full page image was revealed after each story ended。 Seriously， if you have the option - go for the physical copy with this one I can't even I swear！ But on to the stories themselves。 I had read only one of the original stories when they were published separately - "The Witch of Duva" which was a deliciously dark and twisted step to the left so to speak of Hansel and Gretel。 And man， after reading that short story， I went into this anthology hoping for the same lyrical vicious type of tales for the rest of the collection and Bardugo TOTALLY delivered。 They're all stories that feel familiar but not - as if looking back at the fairy tales I loved as a child， even in their original often gruesome forms， but through new adult eyes that revealed the stories hidden underneath to be even darker and simultaneously more hopeful than the originals somehow。 I legitimately can't pick a favorite out of them honestly。 This will definitely be going on pride of place on my bookshelves because I can almost guarantee I'm going to want to read them again and again over the years！ Honestly， this is probably my favorite thing Leigh Bardugo has published， which says a lot considering how much I enjoyed her full length novel series！ 。。。more

I really enjoyed this collection of dark fairytales， especially with some of the twists on today’s classic fairytales。 My favorites out of the collection are “The Too-Clever Fox” and “The Witch of Duva。” However， all of the stories are good， and the illustrations are beautiful。

las otras son absolutamente nuevas para completar este libro。 De esas tres que ya habían sido publicadas les he dejado la reseña más detallada en sus apartados de Goodreads， donde podrán leerlas mucho mejor。 De las demás me enfocaré aquí。___________________________________🌟 Ayama y el Bosque de las Espinas --> 4。5 🌟Este ha sido mi segundo favorito entre todos， la historia me ha parecido hermosa y fascinante。 Si debo aceptar que fue bastante predecible， en comparación con otros de los relatos de este libro， pero de verdad que desde que empecé a leer no quería parar。 “La bestia aullaba y gruñía， y era muy posible que la devorara， pero al menos ella mostraba interés al escucharla hablar。” Nos cuenta la historia de un príncipe monstruoso que fue desterrado de su reino， él empieza a causar daños y dar miedo a los habitantes del pueblo。 Para poder solucionarlo se necesita a una persona valiente que vaya a dialogar con él y saber que quiere， y al final eligen a una pobre niña del pueblo。 “Hay personas que nacen con un pedazo de noche en su interior， y ese hueco no puede llenarse jamás， ni siquiera con toda la comida ni con toda la luz solar del mundo entero。” Algo que me ha encantado de este ha sido lo bonito de la historia， y en cómo la autora， con tan pocas páginas， nos hace enamorarnos de personajes en un dos por tres。 Y， por supuesto， ame que dentro de este cuento hay otros más。🌟 El zorro demasiado astuto --> 3。5 🌟RESEÑA AQUÍ🌟 La bruja de Duva --> 5 🌟RESEÑA AQUÍ🌟 Daga corta --> 3 🌟RESEÑA AQUÍ🌟 El príncipe soldado --> 3。75🌟Me gustó mucho esta historia。 A decir verdad， no fue mi favorita， pero me pareció que fue una de las más creepy， sobre todo con ese final que me dejó loca。 “El deseo es el motivo por el que la gente se levanta por las mañanas。 Les da algo con lo que soñar por las noches。” Una historia de amor entre la realidad y la imaginación， entre la magia y lo real。 Una lucha entre el amor y la libertad。 “Es lo que pasa con los demonios， aunque sean menores: llaman a tu puerta vestidos con abrigos de terciopelo y zapatos bien lustrados。 Se quitan el sombrero， sonríen y se comportan educadamente en la mesa。 Nunca te enseñan su cola puntiaguda。” Creo que lo que hizo que me terminara de gustar este cuento fue su desenlace， porque en un principio no me estaba atrapando totalmente。 Pero después de un rato leyendo y viendo a dónde se dirigía la trama me gustó más。 🌟 El agua que cantó fuego --> 4 🌟Este cuento fue muy particular para mí， al inicio me estaba gustando y tenía ganas de saber todo el misterio de la historia， pero por otra parte se me hizo un poco larga en algunos momentos。 Al final， lo amé。 De verdad que no solo llegó a sorprenderme， me asombró la manera en cómo la autora convino la magia con la trama。 “No existe magia capaz de hacer que te quieran。” Dos sirenas amigas sueñan con formar parte de la realeza y ser amadas por todos， pero cuando la verdadera magia toma el papel principal algo cambia。 “Ese es el problema de prohibir cosas。 Lo único que se consigue es sembrar una pesadumbre en el corazón。” Este ha sido uno de mis favoritos también， el cuento no solo me enamoró al final， sino que me pareció alucinante que es una pequeña historia de La Sirenita。 Ha sido el más largo de todos， pero ha valido la pena。 Incluso quisiera seguir leyendo de esta historia， aunque al final sabemos que es lo que sucede exactamente。___________________________________En conclusión， me encanto la antología。 Cada relato nocturno tiene una magia oscura que solo Leigh puede darnos， pues su toque es absolutamente único。 Mientras leía estos relatos me hacían recordar cuentos y leyendas de mi infancia， por lo que me conquistó mucho más， pero incluso algunas llegaron a darme miedo， y más porque las leía de noche。 Además， cada historia cuenta con ilustraciones ASOMBROSAS。 Este libro te hace volar y seguir queriendo saber mucho más del Grishaverse。 。。。more
